Aqualia launches information and awareness-raising activities on Panama’s Sanitation Programme More than 3,000 Panamanians have visited Aqualia’s information booth at the Westland Mall, the largest mall in the western sector of Panama, du- ring its first week in operation. It is an information point with activities and animations for all audiences where the progress of Panama’s Sanitation Program, coordinated by the coun- try’s Ministry of Health, is explained. The milestones of the Arraiján Este wastewater treatment plant project, led by Aqualia, which will benefit more than 85,000 Panamanians in this part of the country, are also an- nounced. Once the construction of the Was- tewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the interconnection with the exis- ting networks is completed, Aqualia will be in charge of its operation and maintenance for the next 10 years. The action is part of the Ministry of Health’s plan to improve sanitation in the Burunga and Arraijan Cabecera sectors, areas that now have a low level of sewerage and sewage treat- ment. The initiative is in keeping with com- munication plan that Aqualia has im- plemented in Panama, with the aim of strengthening the brand image and making the company’s values known among Panamanians.
