Is a successful career compatible with family life? I have been fortunate since I was always able to count on the help of my family. My mother has been able to help me a lot, otherwise it would have been impossible. My daughters’ early years were complicated because they got sick, you had to play and study with them, and with job that is so absorbing, this is often difficult. But I don’t have the feeling of having sacrificed great things and I feel fortunate. Luckily, thanks to my bosses, colleagues, my husband... I have managed to take steps and did not have to give up im- portant things. . I have achieved a cer- tain reasonable balance. What are the keys to professional success? A little help from those around you, in- ner strength, believing in your capabili- ties, and training and skills. How has work improved with the technological revolution? There has been a total revolution in service management and this has re- sulted in better work schedules. The remote control systems in the facilities free up time. These new technologies make it enable teleworking and are there to be used. Women’s entrepreneurship is sti- ll lower than men’s. Are women afraid to take risks? I believe that that is the case. Aqualia has leadership programs and I have noticed that in all of them, women are afraid to take risks because we are watched very closely. For men, ta- king risks is something that they know from their childhood. It seems that it is written in our DNA that we should not take risks because we could make mistakes.
