A group of neighbours from Pozuelo de Alarcón collected many signatu- res to convey to the City Council their desire for recognising the work of a worker in the street cleaning team, Félix López Costalago. This is what they wrote: “In representation of the 64 neigh- bours who have signed this petition, I want to express in this document our satisfaction for the excellent work per- formed by Félix López, a street swee- per in the Cábilas neighbourhood in Pozuelo de Alarcón. Thanks to his motivation and work, he keeps our streets clean and in the best possible conditions. This is why we hope that his work will be recognised with a pri- ze or a public homage for his profes- sionalism and day-to-day work”. As a result of this petition, the mayor of Pozuelo de Alarcón, Susana Pé- rez Quislant, met with the worker to Félix López, a worker at the street-cleaning service in Po- zuelo (Madrid) honoured by town’s residents and by the City Council convey the congratulations of the re- sidents of the Station neighbourhood and to highlight the excellent work that he performs in the city’s cleaning service and the resources that the city earmarks to ensure that Pozuelo is a benchmark for cleanliness. The mayor also congratulated the rest of the team who make it possible that the town remains clean every day. The mayor stressed that Pozuelo pro- vides a “quality service that pursues excellence and has an organization as flexible and effective as possible to be able to respond rapidly and resol- ve any incidence”. FCC Medio Ambiente has been pre- sent in the municipality of Pozuelo de Alarcón since 1982. Since then, and given the importance and innovative demands that urban sanitation and street cleaning services demand in cities, FCC has been adapting and in- corporating new high-tech equipment and machinery in the city of Madrid for the proper development of its ac- tivity and for the benefit of its citizens. In Pozuelo, FCC serves a popula- tion of more than 86,000 inhabitants and has a modern fleet of vehicles powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and electricity, providing low rates of polluting emissions, thus contributing to the fight against clima- te change. FCC Medio Ambiente has been wor- king for more than a century on the implementation of new technologies and developing new research pro- jects that contribute to more efficient management.
