FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente Holding appoints Íñigo Sanz as new Chief Executive Officer

FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente Holding, company that backbones the FCC Group's environmental activities, is pleased to announce that its board of directors has appointed Íñigo Sanz Pérez as the new Chief Executive Officer of the firm. Íñigo has until now coordinated FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente’s activities in the Americas as CEO of the US subsidiary FCC Environmental Services.

Íñigo, graduated in Chemical Sciences and master’s in environmental law from the University of the Basque Country, and an MBA from the Institute of Applied Economics in Business, has more than 30 years of experience in waste management, the last 29 in the FCC Group, whether in operations, sales or development of new markets, and has led high-level corporate operations in Europe and America. In 2013 he was appointed CEO of the Americas division of FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente, from where he has led the remarkable growth of the business in the United States, achieving a contract portfolio of over $5 billion and developing a company with more than 2,000 people. He has been Chairman of ASEGRE, the Spanish Association of Hazardous Waste Management Companies, and of the Spanish Association of Industrial Cleaning Companies, ASELIME, and is a member of the Board of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce. He has participated in over 50 company mergers and acquisitions.

As the top executive of FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente Holding, Íñigo's mission will be to coordinate the consolidation and growth of the four current geographical business platforms: Iberia, Central and Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom and the Americas. Faced with this challenge, the new CEO says: "I would like to thank the FCC Group and CPPIB for their trust and I take on these new responsibilities with great enthusiasm and motivation, to which end I will count on the invaluable collaboration of the current management teams and all the people in our company".

FCC Servicios Medio Ambiente backbones the FCC Group's environmental services, with more than 120 years of experience, and serves over 67 million people in close to 5,400 municipalities around the world. The company manages annually 24.7 million tonnes of waste and produces 4.9 million tonnes of secondary raw materials and refuse-derived fuel.
