Effective Sealing Solution for Metallic Mining Waste Tanks for the Contol of Potentially Toxic Elements

Project title: EFFECTIVE SEALING SOLUTION FOR METALLIC MINING WASTE TANKS FOR THE CONTROL OF POTENTIALLY TOXIC ELEMENTS

Summary: The project combines industrial research and experimental development, aimed at the development of a precision agriculture system capable of controlling the characteristics of the soil-plant-environmental conditions nexus, specifically for onion cultivation.

The general technical objective of this proposal is the experimental application, on a field scale, of the sealing procedure for mining waste deposits consisting of the installation of a multilayer physical barrier based on a proprietary technology of the UPTC, verified in a small-scale pilot test, testing two different types of materials:

Construction and demolition waste (CDW).
Limestone waste from the clearing and excavation of the mining activities themselves.
