FCC Ámbito, through its Soil Decontamination Department, has co-sponsored the third edition of the Conference on Groundwater Risks and Remediation, GeoRemedia 2026. The event, which took place in the Faculty of Geology at the Complutense University of Madrid, is a leading conference in the field of soil and groundwater decontamination.

The conference brought together more than 200 professionals, including technical managers from various public administrations, major industrial companies and the leading specialist firms in the sector. It was also attended by high-level representatives from the Regional Ministries of the Environment of Andalusia, Catalonia, Madrid and the Basque Country, alongside organisations such as the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the Ebro River Basin Authority, the Catalan Water Agency and ENAC.

At this year’s event, FCC Ámbito presented a technical paper focusing on the use of advanced data analysis and visualisation tools, alongside artificial intelligence applications, to optimise environmental monitoring in soil and groundwater remediation projects.

The presentation highlighted how the incorporation of digital technologies improves the accuracy, efficiency and predictive capacity of remediation actions, reaffirming FCC Ámbito’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
