FCC Ámbito, subsidiary of FCC enviro, has sold its paper and cardboard recovery business to Saica Group, enabling the latter to expand its recovery network in Spain with the addition of the territories of Madrid and the north and west of the Peninsula. The transaction was carried out by Saica Natur, the group's waste management and environmental services division. The main activity of the acquired business consists primarily of the recovery of paper and cardboard and other non-hazardous industrial and commercial waste.

Saica thus takes over the activities carried out by this business of FCC Ámbito at its plants in Madrid, Cáceres, Valladolid, Asturias, Vizcaya, León and Toledo. These plants employ more than 150 people and in 2024 their turnover increased over €30 million.

Following this acquisition, Saica Natur now has 47 plants, 36 of which are in Spain and the rest in France, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Poland. In addition, the total workforce of this business unit has grown to over 1,700 employees.
