FCC Ámbito acquires Rymoil and reinforces its commitment to the circular economy and the recovery of industrial waste

The acquisition strengthens the company’s capabilities in high value-added activities related to the recovery of strategic metals, the regeneration of industrial oils and environmental remediation.

FCCenviro, through its industrial waste subsidiary FCC Ámbito, has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Rymoil, S.A., a transaction that also includes Rymoil’s shareholdings in Aprochim Getesarp Rymoil (AGR) and AGR Catalysts Recovery (AGR-CR), companies operating at the Logrezana Industrial Estate in Carreño (Asturias, Spain).

The transaction represents another step forward in FCC Ámbito’s growth strategy in specialized industrial segments and strengthens its ability to provide advanced solutions for decontamination, recovery and the management of complex waste streams. This acquisition marks the culmination of a strategic relationship spanning more than three decades, dating back to 1995, when FCC Ámbito became a founding shareholder of Aprochim Getesarp Rymoil (AGR) with a 32.17% stake.

The integration of Rymoil, AGR and AGR-CR brings complementary capabilities in areas such as maintenance and monitoring of dielectric oils, treatment and decontamination of transformers, regeneration of industrial oils, recovery of metals from spent catalysts of industrial interest, and contaminated soil remediation services. These activities strengthen FCC Ámbito’s ability to recover high-value materials from complex industrial waste and return them to the value chain as new resources for industry. In addition, the specialized treatment of PCB-contaminated equipment and oils supports the safe elimination of these compounds while minimizing the generation of waste destined for landfill.

The activities carried out by the Rymoil group are closely linked to the recovery of raw materials of particular importance for European industry. Many of the metals recovered through its processes are included in the European Critical Raw Materials Act, legislation designed to strengthen Europe’s strategic autonomy and ensure the supply of essential materials for the energy and digital transitions.

With this transaction, FCC Ámbito continues to advance its commitment to the circular economy, expanding its capacity to recover resources, reduce the environmental impact of industrial processes and provide sustainable solutions to its customers.
